Colorado State football must prove it can reach potential

BOISE, Idaho — Thursday night wasn't supposed to happen.

Colorado State's football team had been playing too well. The offense was in high gear. The defense was responding.

No way that team loses to an Idaho team that hadn't beaten a team with a winning record all year.

But the Vandals stole the Rams thunder with 41 unanswered points to bridge the second and third quarters, laying waste to the exclamation point Colorado State hoped to put on the season.

But did the 61-50 loss to Idaho in the Idaho Potato Bowl turn the punctuation into a question mark?
