Colorado State football gets one verbal, loses two

Colorado State's football program took two steps back Sunday as a pair of players who had committed to the program changed direction, then took a step forward with the addition of verbal commitment Darius Campbell out of Louisiana later in the evening.

Campbell is listed as a two-star safety by Scout.com. The 5-10, 170-pounder had committed early to Tulane, but reversed course in August, then committed to Jackson State. He said via Twitter on Sunday evening he had found a home in Fort Collins. He also played receiver for John Ehret High School in Marrero.

Earlier in the day the Rams lost David Porter, a defensive lineman, to Missouri, and linebacker Jamal Gates to Florida International.
