BOISE, Idaho — The numbers on the scoreboard were closer than they appeared.
Idaho had left Colorado State in the rearview mirror in the third quarter of the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl, and with the Rams on the verge of their worst bowl defeat ever, the offense finally opened up, scoring 36 points in a 56-point final stanza.
Down the road, someone will look at Thursday's 61-50 final score and think it was a hum-dinger of a game, but the reality was it was ho-hum for most of the frigid night at Albertsons Stadium for the Colorado State sideline.
