FORT COLLINS — The season has put Marty English in a rather odd spot.
On one hand, the Colorado State defensive coordinator has remained a realist. One just doesn't expect to replace eight starters and change a defensive scheme and expect things to come up roses from the start.
In fact, the first game of the season was downright dreadful for him to watch.
The other side of him is still a coach. He stated from the start he wasn't looking for excuses and he wasn't about to accept any, either.
