FORT COLLINS — Colorado State is ahead of last year's pace when it comes to selling tickets to the Rocky Mountain Showdown, the school announced.
The game with Colorado will be played Sept. 2 at Sports Authority Field at Mile High in Denver.
As of noon Friday, assistant athletic director for communications Paul Kirk said 25,008 tickets have been issued, of which 6,468 had been sold to students. Included in that number are season-ticket sales of 10,624.
"We're out-pacing last year, and we find that very exciting," Kirk said.
CSU sold 31,601 tickets to the game in 2015, with more than 11,000 going to students, exceeding the student's allotment by more than 1,000.
