STANFORD, Calif. — Shooting woes continued for the Colorado State men's basketball team Sunday, proving costly in a narrow loss on the road at Stanford, the Rams' first defeat of the young season.
The Rams shot just 30 percent in a 56-49 loss in their first road game of the year at Maples Pavilion, including only 5-for-18 (28 percent) from behind the 3-point line, and committed 20 turnovers to seal their fate.
As has been the identity of Colorado State basketball under head coach Larry Eustachy, defense kept the Rams in the game, holding Stanford to just 36 percent from the field itself with 18 turnovers and 19 made shots from the floor.
