FORT COLLINS — In serious need of some depth, the Colorado State basketball team is set to add walk-on Juan Sabino II, a sophomore out of Fountain-Fort Carson High School, just outside of Colorado Springs.
Starting Tuesday, the Rams will be down to just seven scholarship players when reserves Che Bob, Devocio Butler and Kimani Jackson become academically ineligible after failing to meet minimum GPA requirements during the fall semester. CSU also has three of its 13 scholarships tied to Division I transfers who are sitting out.
Sabino was a walk-on for the CSU track team for one semester last year and a three-sport athlete (football, basketball and track) at Fountain-Fort Carson.
