Talk about the perfect storm.
Colorado State was without its two leading scorers Saturday night at New Mexico as Prentiss Nixon (ankle) and J.D. Paige were sidelined with injuries. Nixon and Paige also happen to be the Rams' two top ball handlers, creating a recipe for disaster against a New Mexico team that implements a full-court press and thrives on creating turnovers.
CSU tried its best to weather the storm, closing within five points midway through the second half thanks to a significant rebounding advantage, but the Rams' 23 turnovers were too much to overcome in a 80-65 loss to the Lobos at The Pit in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
