DENVER — A suspect defense wasn't a surprise, not with eight new starters on the Colorado State unit. But when the offense followed suit Friday night, the Rocky Mountain Showdown was anything but at Sports Authority Field at Mile High.
In a perfect example of neither side of the ball helping the other, the Rams were stagnant on offense, going without a first down until the second quarter and turning over the ball four times in the game. Colorado, meanwhile, rolled down the field with a running game that found plenty of space up the middle, mixing in a few big plays via the pass in running up a 44-7 final.
