Briefs: Track and field shatter school records, women’s golf falls short against BYU

The Colorado State track and field team had a memorable Valentine’s Day Weekend, sending athletes to three different meets and seeing several school records fall.

Junior sprinter Emily Romo shattered her own school record in the 400-meter dash at the Don Kirby Invitational in Albuquerque, New Mexico Saturday finishing with a time of 54.71 seconds, which bested her previous mark by 0.33 seconds. Romo ended up finishing 13th overall in the event.

Romo’s record-breaking sprint came just one day after teammate Leah Fair kicked off the Don Kirby Invitational Friday by also breaking her own school record in the 200-meter dash for the third time in the past two seasons, notching a time of 23.
