The Rockies broke through in the 13th inning on catcher Tony Wolters' two-out RBI single up the middle against Cubs right-hander Kyle Hendricks, giving Colorado a 2-1 lead in the National League Wild Card Game. The winner will go on to face the Brewers in the NL Division Series on Thursday.
Wolters came on in the bottom of the 12th inning as part of a double-switch, replacing Drew Butera.
