What’s new at Coors Field for the 2018 season? A massive new scoreboard, a napping room and Rocky Mountain oysters

A towering scoreboard 285 percent larger than its predecessor; a quiet room complete with napping spots for sleepy players; bull testicles. Coors Field is full of surprises for the 2018 Rockies season.

Upgrades and renovations seem to be around every corner of the ball park and will be on full display for Friday’s home opener against the Atlanta Braves.

Of note: the new scoreboard is 8,369 square feet, with a display size equivalent to 784 60-inch televisions. The board will light up the Denver skyline with 6.8 million LED lights.

To protect fans’ noggins, officials upgraded netting behind home plate and extended it at the same height to the outfield end of each dugout.
