Last year, the Colorado Rockies signed 66-year-old manager Bud Black to a one-year contract extension that covers the 2024 season.
Black originally signed with the team in 2017 on a three-year deal with a mutual option for 2020. In 2019, he signed a three-year extension for 2020-2022, and then signed one-year extensions in 2022 and 2023. At the beginning of the 2024 season, there was talk of another contract extension, but there hasn’t been much more reported on that.
Black’s tenure has had its ups and downs, which is to be expected from any manager.
