PITTSBURGH — Ben Paulsen has, somewhat quietly, become an offensive force.
The first baseman went 2-for-3 with a triple, a walk and two RBIs in the Rockies' 5-0 victory over the Pirates on Sunday. Paulsen hit .368 (7-for-19) on the six-game road trip, with a double, triple, homer and four RBIs.
"He's done a really good job for us," manager Walt Weiss said. "He's the perfect example of a guy that's gotten an opportunity the last couple of years and he's done a really good job for us. He's made the very most of it.
"He's been very clutch for us and gotten some big hits and some big RBIs.
