SAN FRANCISCO — Wade Davis is the Rockies’ strong-and-silent closer. He’ll quietly discuss the events in a game, but he loathes to talk about himself.
Good thing bullpen mate and fellow right-hander Scott Oberg is around to discuss what Davis has meant to the Rockies this season.
“To me, he’s been nothing short of incredible,” Oberg said after Davis set the San Francisco Giants down in order in the ninth inning to preserve Colorado’s 3-2 win Sunday at AT&T Park. “He’s a true professional, the way he handles himself and the way he goes about his business.
