Tyler Matzek, still struggling, pulled from scheduled Triple-A start

Struggling left-hander Tyler Matzek was pulled from his scheduled start for Triple-A Albuquerque on Monday to get him away from high-pressure situations.

"We're taking him out of competition for a bit," Rockies manager Walt Weiss said.

Matzek was optioned to the minor leagues on May 8 after he labored at Arizona, allowing six walks while getting just six outs. He struggled with control issues all spring. In his first start for Albuquerque, Matzek's control problems continued. He got through just three outs while walking seven and allowing seven hits.

So the Rockies decided to not start him against Sacramento in New Mexico.
