PHILADELPHIA — Amid a season-high five-game losing streak, everything came together for Colorado on Wednesday night in a slump-busting, 7-2 win over the Phillies.
Left-hander Tyler Anderson turned in a second straight impressive start, allowing one run on six hits through seven innings, while the Rockies’ bats broke out for five runs before recording an out in the fourth inning to catalyze Colorado to the much-needed victory.
The Rockies stepped to the plate with a sense of urgency in the first inning, as DJ LeMahieu and Charlie Blackmon singled before Nolan Arenado brought LeMahieu home on a sacrifice fly to make it 1-0.
