SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Rockies left-hander Tyler Anderson dropped a curveball on an unsuspecting minor-league prospect from the Arizona Diamondbacks on a dusty back field Sunday at Salt River Fields. He could hear it whizz.
“If somebody sneezed in the stands, I could have heard them,” Anderson said.
In his final spring tuneup, Anderson threw 71 pitches over four innings in a practice game. The Rockies played the Diamondbacks in the stadium next door, but they tried to hide Anderson from Arizona’s lineup, keeping him a mystery for the season-opening series this week in Phoenix.
