CINCINNATI — Trevor Story’s philanthropy is just getting started, and his first endeavor involves two elements that define the Rockies’ all-star shortstop.
Faith, and sneakers.
The Rockies’ all-star shortstop partnered with Athletes Brand and Giving Sole, an organization founded by Phoenix 11-year-old Gavin Henss, to create his “Chase the Lion” T-shirt. All proceeds from sales of the shirt go to giving Giving Sole, which provides brand name shoes to kids in the foster care system.
“Shoes is a huge hobby of mine, so I met up with Gavin in spring training and thought it was going to be a great partnership,” said Story, a self-described sneaker-head.
