Trevor Story takes final step toward becoming shortstop for the Albuquerque Isotopes

Ignore the title. The important part of this piece is that Trevor Story, who has been hitting very well for Double-A New Britain, has been promoted to Triple-A Albuquerque. This is something that happens to players moving through an organization. It's not as sexy as a trade rumor, I know, but sometimes the most relevant—and factual—part of a piece of news is also the most boring.

The Rockies have moved relief pitcher John Axford to the temporary inactive list due to a family matter, MLB.com's Thomas Harding reports. Walt Weiss indicated that the move is unrelated to the well-being of Axford's son, who was bitten by a rattlesnake during spring training.
