Trevor Story, in mild slump, on bench for first time with Rockies

After 19 games, 77 at-bats, eight homers, 14 RBIs, 31 strikeouts and a lot of hoopla, Trevor Story took a seat Tuesday night.

The Rockies' rookie shortstop, who blasted his way into major-league history by belting a record seven home runs in his first six games, was not in the starting lineup for the first time as Colorado hosted Pittsburgh.

"I have been keeping my eye on him and looking for a spot (to rest him)," said manager Walt Weiss, who called Story into his office for a short meeting. "This is not the typical three-week start to a career.
