Riley Pint finally has something to build on as his pitching career continues in the Rockies’ farm system.
Nine days ago, the Rockies’ first-round draft pick in the June draft threw five shutout innings and Grand Junction defeated Orem, Utah, 8-0 in the rookie Pioneer League.
There’s good reason why Pint would want to pin an account of that game on his wall. He was the winning pitcher for the first time in his first professional season and the triumph came in his 10th start and with just a week left in the regular season.
“It felt pretty good,” Pint said.
