Tommy Kahnle is taking Jordan Lyle's place on Rockies' 25-man roster

Taking Jordan Lyles' place on the Rockies' 25-man roster is right-handed reliever Tommy Kahnle, who was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque. Kahnle was 1-2 with a 3.68 ERA in 17 appearances at Triple-A.

"I hope I can stay up for good," Kahnle said. "I think I learned a few things (pitching at Triple-A). I knew I had to cut down on the walks, and I think I did that pretty well."

Statistics confirm that. Pitching for the Isotopes, Kahnle had just eight walks, and 26 strikeouts.

Manager Walt Weiss said he wanted to beef up the Rockies' bullpen for the long homestand, hence the decision to add Kahnle.
