Rockies general manager Jeff Bridich said he was going to search outside the organization for the club’s next manager. He’s making good on his promise.
Miami Marlins bench coach Tim Wallach is the latest candidate to emerge, a major-league source confirmed Tuesday. The possibility of Wallach interviewing for the Rockies job was first reported by MLB Daily Dish in a tweet.
The Rockies are searching for a manager to replace Walt Weiss, who resigned the day after the season ended.
Wallach, 59, has served as a bench coach for Don Mattingly for the past three seasons, first with the Los Angeles Dodgers in 2014-15 and then with the Marlins this past season.
