The Colorado Rockies announced a series of pitching-related roster moves on Friday afternoon. These moves come just before the team was set to start a six-game homestand Friday evening with a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies.
The bulk of these moves are for the Rockies’ bullpen, which struggled during the tail end of their California road trip. In three games against the moribund Oakland Athletics, the Rockies’ bullpen worked 12 2⁄3 innings while walking nine batters and giving up 13 earned runs as the the Rockies coughed up the lead in each game and lost two of them.
