WASHINGTON — Rockies all-star third baseman Nolan Arenado could discover his fate as soon as Friday.
He expects to be suspended for his central role in the brawl between the Rockies and Padres on Wednesday. When all is said and done, and after the appeals have been handled by Joe Torre and his staff at Major League Baseball, Arenado could be suspended for four or even five games. We’ll see what happens.
So what will the Rockies do in his absence? Remember, a team can’t simply call up a player from the minors to fill Arenado’s spot on the 25-man roster.
