Rockies 5, Giants 1, at Scottsdale Stadium
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Stephen Cardullo, the outfielder/first basemen who made his major-league debut last season at age 28, is making making a lot of noise this spring. He went 2-for-3 with an RBI double Friday night in the Rockies’ 5-1 victory over San Francisco.
“You can’t say enough about how he’s hitting,” manager Bud Black said. “He’s squaring balls up against all types of pitchers and he’s playing with a great deal of intent to try and make this ballclub.
“When you are having the at-bats he’s having … they way he’s taking pitches, it’s impressive.
