The Colorado Rockies were not good in any phase of the game in an 8-3 loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Friday.
Offensively, the Rockies managed just three hits, all of them singles, prior to the ninth inning. Two of the three hits came in the sixth inning from Raimel Tapia and Nolan Arenado, but a pop out by Daniel Murphy and a Ryan McMahon fly out ended the Rockies first scoring threat of the night. The Rockies did manage a rally in the ninth against Cardinals reliever John Gant, but it was too little too late.
