Pitching, specifically Rockies pitching, will be a hot topic until attention turns to spring training in March.
Some help might come from what could be called the Big Three in the Rockies' farm system. Right-hander Shane Carle leads the franchise's minor-league pitchers this year with 13 victories at Double-A New Britain. Left-hander Harrison Musgrave has 11 victories, earned with Single-A Modesto and New Britain. Right-hander Zach Jemiola has 11 victories, earned with Single-A Asheville and Modesto.
Time will tell whether any of those three will make enough progress to figure in the major-league camp at spring training next year, but Rockies director of player development Zach Wilson sees a big positive for all three.
