When young stars are drafted by Major League teams, the players dream of rising quickly through the farm system to make the Big League debuts.
While that’s likely true for Kyle Karros, the Rockies 2023 5th-round Draft pick out of UCLA, he also found himself in a special situation in 2024: taking the long way. The third baseman started and ended the season with High-A Spokane, earning the Northwest League MVP by leading the league in average (.311), on-base percentage (.390), slugging percentage (.485), OPS (.875), RBI (78), doubles (33) and hits (147). Alongside his bat, Karros also does impressive work with his glove, winning the Gold Glove award, beating out every other MiLB third baseman across every level.
