MILWAUKEE – Reliever Scott Oberg found himself on the 15-day disabled list Monday, and may be feeling like a lucky man.
Rockies doctors diagnosed Oberg with blood clots in his right arm. Manager Walt Weiss noted Oberg was fortunate the condition – officially termed axillary artery thrombosis — was discovered early.
“He went for some tests yesterday that showed some clots,” Weiss said. “It’s a scary situation anytime you’re talking about blood clots. It’s a good thing we got on it early. It was scary news when we got that, but I think they’re taking care of it as we speak and he’s going to be OK.
