SAN DIEGO — As the Rockies’ encouraging, yet often-frustrating season winds down, general manager Jeff Bridich’s offseason will begin to heat up.
His to-do list is long, complex and urgent. The Rockies’ farm system — one that Bridich helped nurture — is bearing bountiful fruit. That means the 2017 and 2018 seasons present the franchise’s best chance at a playoff run since 2009, so there is a lot at stake.
Here’s Bridich’s to-do list:
— Decide if he will give manager Walt Weiss a new contract. There will be a lot of factors at play in Bridich’s decision, including Weiss’ record, their personal relationship and their baseball philosophies.
