We are witnessing the birth of the golden age of Rockies pitching. How long it lasts and how far it can take the club remains to be seen, but it sure makes for memorable baseball.

Heading into the weekend, we’d already witnessed four true gems. More precisely, Colorado has had four starts of six or more innings in which the starter allowed two hits or fewer. That’s no big deal for most organizations, but for the historically pitching-poor Rockies, it’s a revelation. In fact, it’s the first time in franchise history that their starting pitching has been so impressive out of the gate.
