To be more specific, after Murphy’s poor performance last season, the great unknown is what kind of player he’ll be in 2020. That’s why, when I get a peek at the Rockies during the first days of spring training, I’m going to pay close attention to Murphy, who turns 35 on April 1. Is he in shape? Has he lost weight? Is he more nimble around the bag? What’s his comfort level scooping balls in the dirt?
