The Rock Cats scored three in the sixth and two in the seventh to secure the win yesterday. They did not do so in overly dramatic fashion. Six of the seven Rock Cats hits were singles, including hits from Trevor Story and Tommy Murphy. The team's only extra base hit came courtesy of Jayson Langels, who knocked in a run with an RBI triple.
On the mound, Ryan Carpenter pitched seven strong innings. He allowed two runs on four hits and struck out a batter an inning. Hard throwing right-hander Austin House pitched the ninth for a save, although he did allow three hits and a run while doing so.
