DENVER -- The Rockies promoted left-hander Harrison Musgrave to the bullpen Monday to replace lefty Chris Rusin, who was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a right intercostal strain.
To add Musgrave to the Major League roster, the Rockies transferred righty Carlos Estevez to the 60-day DL with a right elbow strain. Estevez had been on the 10-day DL because of an oblique strain he suffered in Spring Training.
Musgrave, a 2014 eighth-round pick out of West Virginia University, was 0-1 with a 3.38 ERA in three starts at Triple-A Albuquerque. Although the 26-year-old has started all but two of his Minor League appearances, the Rockies began using him in relief situations in Spring Training.
