DENVER -- Nolan Arenado, Trevor Story and Ian Desmond crushed back-to-back-back homers Tuesday night, and the Rockies pushed their way to a 10-8 win over the Mets. Colorado ended its longest Coors Field losing streak in club history at eight games.
Tuesday's trio of homers was the eighth time in franchise history that the Rockies hit back-to-back-to-back home runs. The last time was May 27, 2010, in the bottom of the seventh when Seth Smith, Carlos Gonzalez and Ryan Spilborghs all went deep.
Arenado's two-run shot and Story and Desmond's solo shots -- all off Mets starter Jason Vargas -- were part of a six-run third inning for the Rockies, who extended their lead to 8-2.
