CHICAGO — These are the types of games the Rockies used to lose.
The scenario: Their starting pitcher lasts only three innings on the road, where clutch hits come few and far between, and where the bullpen eventually implodes.
But these Rockies are not those Rockies.
Friday afternoon at Wrigley Field, the Rockies used six stellar innings of relief pitching, a pair of two-run homers from Ryan Hanigan and Charlie Blackmon and a clutch RBI single from Nolan Arenado to beat the Cubs 5-3.
Despite giving up nine walks and hitting three batters, the Rockies extended their season-high winning streak to six games and beat the defending World Series champions for the fourth time in five games this season.
