ARLINGTON, Texas — The Rockies’ slump and frustration reached Texas-sized proportions Wednesday night at Globe Life Park with a crushing 5-4 defeat to the Rangers.
Given a 4-3 eighth-inning lead off the heroics of rookie David Dahl, Colorado melted down again and lost it’s fourth consecutive game.
Trouble began when first baseman Mark Reynolds let Mitch Moreland’s grounder get through him for an error. Then reliever Boone Logan hit Shin-Soo Choo. In came reliever Jordan Lyles, who got Ian Desmond to ground out and then intentionally walked the dangerous Carlos Beltran to load the bases.
Newly-named closer Adam Ottavino entered, looking for a four-out save.
