SEATTLE — The Rockies’ iron man is not indestructible after all.
Shortstop Trevor Story, who has played in 139 consecutive games, was a late scratch from the starting starting lineup for Saturday’s game against Seattle. Story has a bruised right foot after getting hit by a pitch by Roenis Elias in the top of the seventh inning in Colorado’s 7-1 victory over the Mariners Friday night.
Story, batting .282 with 16 home runs and 60 RBIs, has played in 781 of 782 innings at shortstop for Colorado this season. Daniel Castro played one inning on June 2 vs.
