Rockies all-star shortstop Trevor Story was placed on the 10-day disabled list Saturday with right elbow inflammation.
Manager Bud Black said Friday that the club would wait until Monday to have an MRI taken on Story’s elbow and the hope was Story might be able to ease back into the lineup. Obviously, that is not the case.
Prior to Saturday’s game at Pittsburgh, infielder Matt Adams was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. He has recovered from a bruised shin.
On Friday, Black said Story “was feeling a little better,” adding, “the tightness is still apparent in the forearm and around the elbow, but not quite as much as it was (Thursday) night.
