The Rockies are trading right-handed reliever Mychal Givens to the Cincinnati Reds in exchange for right-hander Case Williams, a major league source confirmed.
MLB.com first reported the deal. The clubs have not announced the trade yet.
Williams, from Douglas County High School, was Colorado’s 2020 fourth-round pick but was traded to the Reds for reliever Robert Stephenson last year.
Givens, 31, was an obvious trade piece for the Rockies. He’s due to become a free agent at the end of the season. He has a 2.73 ERA and 27.4% strikeout rate across 29 2/3 innings for Colorado.
