Jon Gray, the Rockies' top prospect, could be called up soon from Triple-A Albuquerque.
Gray said Wednesday that he has not been told anything by the organization yet, but his strong performance and the failure of the Rockies' starting rotation makes his promotion increasingly likely.
A hint came Wednesday afternoon before the Rockies were scheduled to host the Angels. Manager Walt Weiss was asked if he had any thoughts on Gray getting called up.
With a wry smile, Weiss said, "Umm, yeah, well see. But my focus is here on the day to day. I get the reports and I hear from the people around him.
