CINCINNATI — With Colorado’s playoff odds thinning, manager Bud Black is sticking with the best four starting arms he’s got — at least for the next couple weeks.
After Chi Chi Gonzalez makes another spot start for Colorado on Saturday against the Reds, the Rockies are probable to send him right back to Triple-A Albuquerque. With two off-days over the next two weeks, Colorado then plans to use a four-man rotation until the club will need a fifth starter again on August 10.
“With the off-days on Thursday (next week) and Monday (the week after), we’re looking at some different options for our roster,” Black said.
