In a press release, the Rockies announced that they have agreed to terms with Case Williams, a graduate of Douglas Country High School in Castle Rock and their fourth-round draft selection.
Relatively unknown on the national stage, Williams was a surprise choice. The Rockies, however, had been scouting Williams throughout his high school career. The 6’2’, 210-lb right-handed pitcher was the top-rated pitcher in Colorado by both Perfect Game and Prep Baseball Report. In high school, he went 14-2 with a 2.98 ERA (94.0 IP, 31 ER) with 134 strikeouts, earning a record of 8-1 with a 1.
