After another summer filled with magical moments at the plate, Rockies shortstop Trevor Story won his second straight National League Silver Slugger Award on Thursday.
Story led major league shortstops with 35 homers in 2019, making him the first shortstop in baseball history to begin his career with four consecutive seasons of 20-plus homers. He also set new career highs in runs (111), batting average (.294) and on-base percentage (.363) while earning a second straight all-star nod.
With the 2019 Silver Slugger, Story became the 10th player in Rockies history to win the award more than once.
