The Rockies sure could use former closer Scott Oberg in their struggling bullpen.
That won’t happen any time soon, and it may never happen, given the seriousness of his ailment — the reoccurring blood clots in his right arm.
But Oberg is keeping the faith. And he’s been hanging out with his teammates and coaching them up. That’s a good thing, because Oberg has been one of the club’s most popular and influential players.
“He played catch the other day, in the outfield,” manager Bud Black said. “He wants to be around the team. He’s there in the afternoon.
