Third baseman Ryan McMahon was one of the few Rockies players able to solve San Francisco right-hander Kevin Gausman Monday afternoon at Coors Field.
McMahon hit a solo homer to left-center in the second and drew a walk in the fourth against Gausman, who pitched seven strong innings in the Giants’ 10-5 victory. McMahon homered for the third time in 11 games, and the fact that he took the ball the opposite way was a good sign.
“When I can hit balls to left-center instead of cutting them or slicing them, that’s a sign that I’m starting to do some things better,” McMahon said.
