Rockies run over Reds as Trevor Story hits 8th home run

CINCINNATI — Trevor Story's big bat awoke from its short slumber and the Reds paid the price.

The Rockies' rookie shortstop crushed a two-out, solo home run off Cincinnati reliever Ross Ohlendorf in the eighth, sparking Colorado to a 5-1 victory Monday night at Great American Ballpark. It was Story's eighth homer of the season, his first since April 10 and his first in 27 at-bats.

Story's homer also stirred up Colorado's dormant offense. Ben Paulsen followed with a three-run homer off Jumbo Diaz.

The Rockies improved to 8-5 and have won five of their last six games, including three of four on the road.
