Finding a solution to the Rockies’ bullpen woes during the second half of the season has been like trying solve a jigsaw puzzle with missing pieces.
Emerging ever so slowly from that mess of late has been Jordan Lyles. The right-hander has surrendered only two runs since Aug. 19, a stretch spanning seven games and 9u2154 innings. It’s not an overwhelming sample size, but given all the struggles experienced by the team’s relievers this season, it qualifies as a bright spot.
Lyles entered Tuesday’s game against San Francisco in the eighth inning with the Rockies leading 2-1 with one out and runners on second and third base.
